I have read Idiot Nation, by Michael Moore. The writing is about one mans opinion on education. He writes about how the government, local school boards and students themselves are taking or making money for the education of our younger generation.
Mr. Moore is against how the government is taking more money away from the schools. Leaving poor buildings that are not up to standard, deceases in salary for the teachers, and overcrowding in the classrooms.
I could not get a feeling on the opinion of the school districts in Colorado Springs entering into contracts with large corporations. I see it as a good way of making money for the schools and having better educated teachers. If the school board pays a good salary, it is rewarding for the teacher to stay and teach their. Instead of going off to some other place that pays more. More money means more learning resources to. Updated books, more computers, and a better learning environment.
I had a little trouble with the last part of the writing. I don't think that kids should be making alot of problems with clubs. Yes, I do believe that the younger generation is smart and can do alot of things with their minds. I do not think that they need to be taught that they can do great things without proper supervision and thought. Don't just dive in. That is the way life is. You will not graduate school and start making a large salary right off the bat. It takes time, supervision and thought.
This writing is only one mans opinion on how he thinks. To me it is just another opinion.

Grammer Post.
I have a problem with adjectives. Why? It is not a every day thing that I think about. Adjectives are used to say how an action is performed, add information about time, place and manner. Writers can also use them to add information to other adjectives.

From Changing American Families.
I have read From Changing American Families. It is about differences in each class of people. Socially, gender, ethnicity, and family life are written about in this reading.
The upper class lives on interest alone. The money or assets that have been handed down through the generations. They socialize through sports activities that are for the children. The men are successful if their fathers have been successful.
The middle class relocates many times for a job. They are not to close to their families. The friends they meet and mingle with are considered family.
The lower class does alot of trading to make everyday life work for them. It seems like it would be alot of stress living that life style. Every morning something would have to be taken care of at the spurr of the moment. It could be someone needs childcare, or rent money. Sometimes you would be obligated to return the favor.

What We Really Miss About The 1950's.
I think it is interesting how everyone looks back at Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, and Ozzie and Harriet and thinks that was the way it was in that time. People watching the T.V. programs back when they aired knew that it did not go that way. Yes, the economy was getting better and the job market was rising but situations inside the family were not as good as they were portrait on T.V. I really liked the paragraph on the beer ads. The beer companies are portaiting that if you drink beer X then you will be stronger and sexier. Not so much hu.
I think media has had a lot to do with the way we see how things went back in the 1950s and 1960s. Back then they did not have the large coverage of every little thing that happened. It protected the people from the social ills.
I can see the same thing on a larger scale today. Especially with the reality shows on T.V. Everone is having fun and living in a big expensive house. Thats not how things go.
